Zentangle

Well I finally got around to posting this page from my art journal which is a zentangle using the negative of a Tim Holtz die.  Still putting away stuff from the Springfield show.  Can't wait to use some of the techniques that I learned at the show.  Hope you enjoy.

Nurse Cindy

Today my blog is dedicated to Cyndi.  For the past 2 plus years Cyndi has worked very hard to to prepare herself to get into the Nursing Program.  Well all the hours of hard work and studying paid off.  I am so proud of her and know she is going to make a wonderful nurse.

Italian Journal Letter C

I recently got back to working on my Italian Journal and today I worked on the letter C.  The theme is Cucire for sewing.  I used the new Tim Holtz die for the dress form, colored the lady in the dress with copic markers and colored pencils.  The sewing machine was a die cut.  I used a silver metal sheet and used alcohol inks to stain in black.  I wanted it to look like the old singer sewing machine.  The dictionary snippets are:
Cucire - To Sew, to sew up
Cucitura - stitching
Cucito - hand sewn, stitched
Nothing better than spending the day working on Art!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting ready for ATC night

ATC

What a busy couple of weeks.  Started the week off with Paul and I celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, taking a copic marker class, going to see Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks in concert on Sunday, and last but not least starting next week I will be a whole year older which means I will have exactly 1095 days left before retirement.
I have added a gadget at the top of my page to a pretty cool Zentangle blog that has a weekly challenge.  Pretty cool site.
My graphic for this post is the digitally designed back for my ATCs for the March trade.

Alice in Wonderland Queen of Hearts

Well I finally finished this project. I wanted to use it as a backing for my July ATC swap. The theme was Alice in Wonderland. Needless to say the backing never made it to the ATCs but I really wanted to finish it. I learned a lot of new techniques and it was so much fun to do; so it was well worth it. Hope you enjoy it.

2010 Heirloom paper arts expo

Another great show. Well the 2010 Heirloom productions expo was a little over a week ago. It was great and had so much fun. Met my sister in law and Terrie in Springfield, Ma.

This year I got to take a couple of classes, both of which I truly enjoyed. One was with Kate from invoke arts (one of my favorite vendors) and the other was from Stamp Zia. Both classes were wonderful. I also found some great stamps at Rubber Neck Stamp Company. I am posting a card that I made from one of their Sophisticated Lady stamps using copic markers.

Snow, Snow and More Snow

Well vacation is over and back to work tomorrow. It has been snowing on and off for the past couple of days; it sure is pretty when you don't have to drive in it. It is really hard to believe that it is 2010. I can remember being a little girl and thinking how far away the year 2000 was. In 2010 I will be celebrating my 39th wedding anniversary, 12 years at Liberty, 22 years in our current home, Max will be 13 years old, the kids are all grown and have families of their own.
